Strange Dream

The journey through the mountain – The dream began on a snowy terrain. It was calm and desolate but bright enough to call day. I was joined by a 19th century man with a mustache. He was dressed in an olive-green suit with gray stockings. His coat was slim and strong looking as if it were made for fashion and extreme weather. He guided me through a cave that tested by bodily senses of hot, cold, fatigue, and extreme pain. He assured me through his eyes and the way he casually marched through the chaos that things would be ok. After I made it through the extremes of every bodily condition I saw a dark cave at a higher level. Before we entered the cave, he looked back at me and winked. I can still see his big mustache and bowler olive green bowler cap as he tipped it and without speaking said, “now you must endure this” with a sort of cheerful tone. I headed into the cave and started laughing hysterically. There were shadowy figures surrounding me with different shades of red light which illuminated the cartoonish stalagmites along the way. It turned to a somber blue and I began extremely depressed. I wanted to lay down and die with the black figures that seemed to be igniting the feeling I was experiencing. I moved on into an angry rage which had me coming out of my skin. I screamed and flailed my arms about uncontrollably. The figures were all bouncing around as a yelled with anger at their transparent smiles. The end was near and the 19th century man walked through without flinching. I could only see the back of his upright posture as he used a cane for mere style and confidence. As we exited the cave my mind was exhausted. He pointed in the distance. It was an open sea. I could see only dark green water and black sky. The waves were violently dancing with the harsh wind’s command. The man spoke and said, “here it is, now you must find its meaning” …
